Julio Antonio Mella

Biography

Cuban political activist, a founder of the "internationalized" Cuban Communist Party. Mella studied law in the University of Havana until he was expelled in 1925 and is considered a hero by the present Cuban government. Mella was assassinated on January 10, 1929, while walking home late at night with photographer Tina Modotti.

Márz 1903 um zehn Uhr morgens brachte Cecilia Magdalena McPartland in La Habana im privaten Sanatorium Cuba, gelegen an der Ecke der Strassen Infanta und Universidad, ihren ersten Sohn zur Welt." [Translation: On 25 March 1903 at ten o'clock in the morning Cecilia Magdalena McPartland in Havana at the private sanatorium Cuba, located at the corner of the streets Infanta and Universidad, gave birth to their first son].
