Biography
Italian actress of stage and film who made her stage debut in 1964 and film debut in 1970. An attractive blonde leading lady, Melato attended the Milan Theater Academy and was talented in both dramatic and comedy roles. She worked with such directors as Wettmuller, Petri and Monicelli, appearing in over 50 films, some made for TV. She has received over ten awards, which include the Ambrogino d'Oro award in 1991, the Naviglio d'Oro award in 1992, the Grolla d'Oro award also in 1992 and the Montegrotto Europa award for theater in 1994.
