Biography
American sales coordinator at H.P. Hood in Charlestown, retired. Mariani was a traveler on United Flight 176 that struck the World Trade Tower on 9/11/2001, flying to California for the wedding of his step-daughter. His wife, Ellen, had flown out the same day but on an earlier flight and they planned to meet in Los Angeles. When her connecting flight was cancelled in Chicago, she found out that Neil was one of the victims of the terrorist attack. She is the first to start a lawsuit, charging United Airlines with inadequate security.
