Biography

American basketball player, who became known as "Pistol" Pete Maravich. He was: guard with the Jazz, Hawks and

he played in the NBA 50th Anniversary All-Time Team

Initially drafted to pro basketball in 1970, he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame on May 5, 1987, and he died on January 5, 1988 of a heart attack, age 40, while he was playing basketball in a California gym. His father had died not even a year before.
