German poet and writer, alias Teut Ansolt. During the latter years of the Weimar Republic (1919-1933), he was one of the most prominent and controversial leaders and authors of the German Youth Movement. In post-war Germany he was chairman of the Saarland Author Association and the Saarland Cultural Committee as well as managing director of the Germany-Foundation. His work includes poetry, drama, amateur dramatics, several short stories and novellas, and critical writings. He died on 10 January 1975.
Sy Scholfield quotes a transcription of the birth record in "Ein Kampf für das Recht der Musen: Leben und Werk von Karl Christian Müller alias Teut Ansolt (1900-1975)" by Torsten Mergen (V&R unipress, 2012): "wohnhaft bei ihm, zu Saarlouis in seiner Wohnung, am siebzehnten Januar des Jahres tausend neunhundert nachmittags um ein Uhr ein Knabe geboren worden sei und daß das Kind die Vornamen Karl Christian erhalten habe." [Translation: "born at one in the afternoon at his apartment in Saarlouis, on the seventeenth of January of the year nineteen hundred, a boy who received the name Karl Christian"].
