American publisher, born in China. A leader in the field of publishing and editing, he introduced "Time" magazine in 1923, "Fortune" in 1930 and "Life" in 1936.
He married Clare Boothe in 1935, who was an active politician and Ambassador; they were married 32 years.
He died 2/28/1967 Phoenix, AZ.
