Biography

New Zealander legendary Rugby Union Player with endorsements for US products. The child of poor Tongan parents, he became a young multi-millionaire through his skill on the playing field. In 1995 and 1999 he dominated the World Cup games. In 1996, at the young age of 21, and with such a brilliant future ahead, he was diagnosed with Nephrotic syndrome, a disease of the kidneys. Despite the diagnosis, he continued to play his strenuous game for the All Blacks until 2002 and struggled to play in 2003. However, by mid 2003 he was on dialysis. On June 29, 2004 he underwent a kidney transplant in Auckland, NZ.
