Biography
American businessman, self-made millionaire and ex-convict. A self-described "condo king" Lilly developed acres of land into condominiums primarily in Florida in the mid 1980s. In 1991 he was convicted of bank fraud after his condo sales business went bust, and he served five years in prison with additional time tacked on for loan fraud in 1993. After his 1997 release from jail he was prohibited from real estate development but allegedly continued his dealings. In fact, he was suspected of conducting his business from jail with Kaan doing the legwork in photographing and identifying properties. In 1999 he and Kaan moved into a 5.2 million dollar home in Florida with their two children. In October 2000 the couple and others came under investigation for suspicious and perhaps fraudulent real estate dealings and hiding assets.
