Biography
American athlete, pro basketball player for the Boston Celtics from his rookie year of 1987 until his death on July 27, 1993 in Waltham, MA. He was 29 years old and collapsed nd died while shooting baskets at Brandeis University gym.
He had had two previous dizzy and fainting spells on March 24, 1993 and on April 29, 1993, and two doctors had diagnosed cardiomyopathy. One doctor delivered a more hopeful diagnosis, of neurocardiogenic syncope, a less dangerous condition. Each of four doctors consulted had a slightly different diagnosis and recommendation. With his wife newly pregnant with their second child, he considered quitting but didn't. .
