Biography

German engraver, minister and union official. An engraver by trade, he became an active member of the trade union movement. He was the Deputy Chairman of German Trade Union Association in 1932 until the Nazis seized power and he was arrested on 5/02/1933. Tortured while in the concentration camp, upon his release he organized a resistance in the trade union.

Arrested by the Third Reich 7/20/1944, he was hanged 9/29/1944.
