Biography
American actress seen in "Deep Impact," 1998 and "Jurassic Park III," 2001.
The daughter of a lawyer and a nutritionist, Tea credits her parents with giving her the confidence to explore her own sense of adventure. She was raised in Manhattan's posh Upper East Side and sent to a upper-class school, but also given a stint in a progressive boarding school where she "milked cows and shoveled manure." She dropped out of her freshman year in college to junket through Italy and Japan and even signed on the crew of a sailboat in the Caribbean.
Ending up in Boston, Tea entered a local casting call for a TV show, after which she moved on to Los Angeles. She opted for factory work rather than waiting table while taking small movie roles.
Tea married director Neil Tardio in 1992 for three years duration and lived with writer Chris Thompson for a spell, and in 1997, she met David Duchovny, 39. Within two months he proposed: they bought a house in Malibu and had their daughter Madelaine in 1999. Noted for her "spicy" language, Tea learned to curb her tongue when Madelaine began repeated her epitaphs. They welcomed their second child, a boy named Kyd Miller Duchovny, on June 15, 2002. In August 2008 her husband entered rehab for a "sex addiction" and the couple separated in October that year.
