Sy Scholfield quotes father's record in "Leben und Werk von G. W. Leibniz" by Kurt Müller and Gisela Krönert (Vittorio Klostermann, 1969), p. 3: "LEIPZIG Juli 1: Am Sonntag, dem 21. Juni (a. St.)/1. Juli (n. St.) 1646 abends um 6 Uhr 45 wurde Leibniz wahrscheinlich im Gebäude des Großen Fürstenkollegs (in der späteren Ritterstraße) zu Leipzig geboren." [On Sunday, 21 June (old style) / 1 July (new Style) in 1646 in the evening at 6:45 pm, Leibniz was born probably in the building of the Great Prince College (later Knight Street) in Leipzig.]. Source given as: "Eintragung des Vaters Friedrich Leibniz in die Familienchronik: „21. Junii am Sontag 1646 Ist mein Sohn Gottfried Wilhelm, post sextam vespertinam 1/4 uff 7 uhr abents zur welt gebohren, im Wassermann." [Translation: Registered by his father Friedrich Leibniz in the family chronicle: "21 Junii on Sunday 1646 was born to the world my son Gottfried Wilhelm, after six o'clock in the evening a quarter to 7 o'clock, in Aquarius"].
