Biography
French author and historian. He had a long wait for academic recognition but eventually became widely known for his introduction to the French Revolution in two volumes, 1939 and 1947. Lefebvre's most original contribution to historical research was in his study of the revolution from below, the peasants and rural impact, the food supply and daily life from the view of the people.
He died, 8/28/1959.
