Biography
Catholic ecclesiastic, hard-pressed to resign during the early 2002 scandals regarding the church's cover up of pedophiliac priests. He is struggling against a tide of public disapproval about the millions the R.C. church is spending to cover up the extent of child sex abuse conducted by priests. Law was ordained on 5/21/1961, Archbishop of Boston on 3/23/1984. Made Cardinal on 3/25/1985.
He has been on retreat at a monastery near Pittsburgh since his resignation this past December 2002 amid exploding charges of sexual abuse hurled against many priests in his diocese.
