German writer. She became a journalist and achieved a reputation with popular historical novels, of which Königin der Meere (1940), dealing with the foundation of Venice, was the greatest success. Her other novels are Die Ballade der Judith van Loo (1938), Die Allerheiligen-Bucht (1942), Die Bürger von Calais (1949), and Der Ölzweig (1952), which treats of Noah and the Flood. She was also the author of the historical Novellen Castell Bô (1948) and Der Garten des Vergessens (1953).
She died 4 September 1979.
