Biography
French ballet dancer; choreographer and teacher. Lacotte danced at the Paris Opera 1946-1955 before founding his own company, Ballet de la Tour Eiffel, and touring widely. In 1945-1957, he went to New York as a premier danseur of the Met, then back to France where he became director of the newly established National Jeunesses Musicales de France, 1963. His wife, G. Thesmar was a ballerina for the company.
Lacotte choreographed a great number of ballets and a television production, becoming known as a leading authority on reviving historical ballets.
