Biography
American politician and lawyer. At age 21, he had a job in the US Consulate and passed the bar in 1910. He went into politics and was elected to Congress in 1915. After completing active service in the war, he re-entered Congress in 1922 and served four terms. He was the 99th Mayor of New York City, 1934-1945.
Died in 1947.
