Biography
Brazilian politician, one of the most popular presidents to serve his country. Kubitschek planned and built Brasilia, the capitol city and the whole industrial development of the country gained during his term, 1/31/1956 to 1/31/1961.
Kubitschek started work as a telegraph operator while studying for his doctorate. He was successively a colonel of the military police and mayor of Belo Morizonte, Governor of Minas Gerais, a congressman and a senator. He died in a car accident the evening of 8/22/1976.
