Biography
German homicide; the perpetrator of sex murders 1929-1937, arrested 10/04/1937 and executed eights months later.
Born to a brutal father, he tortured animals as a child. By the age of 15, he had begun his prison records with arrests for larceny. A laborer, he was married in 1929 to "the only one I ever cared for." His friends thought him to be a jolly good fellow but he lived a double life. On 11/08/1929, the body of Margaret S. was found, sexually assaulted and murdered. There were also many rapes in the area of which he was suspected.
On 6/06/1930, a victim was raped; on 6/11/1935, the body of Wilma M. was found (born 6/09/1918, 02:30 AM, Cuxhaven, Germany); on 7/09/1936, the body of Gertrude E. was found (b. 5/22/1911); on 5/23/1937, the body of Grete B. was found. Koernig was apprehended and executed in June 1938.
