Biography
German physician and pro astrologer, a pioneer of German scientific-empirical astrology and advocate of Placidus house-system. A critic of methods of directions, he is well known for his accurate and solid research. He is the author of a number of books published in the '20s.
A medical doctor, Klockler became interested in astrology after WW I. Indifferent to politics or connections of the community with Theosophy or occultism that prevailed at the time, he was an important, though lesser known, figure in the development of German astrology, one of the first to discuss the idea of a "psychological astrology." His "Foundations of Astrological Interpretation," published in 1926, is considered to be one of the leading lights in a scientific approach. Kloeckler was also one of the first to use statistics to put astrology on a scientific basis. He died in 1950.
