Biography
Canadian-American writer, a prominent North American writer of sports fiction, often on the subject of baseball. A remarkably prolific creator, his work includes "Shoeless Joe, Field of Dreams," 1982, that was made into a major motion picture. He also writes about his native Canadian experiences, and is the recipient of many awards.
Kinsella taught at the University of Calgary 1978-83. He married Myrna Salls December 1957; a second marriage to Mildred Clay-Heming September 1965; and a third marriage to Ann Ilene Knight December 1978. He has three children.
