Biography
Canadian novelist and short story writer who is well-known for his novel "Shoeless Joe" (1982), which was adapted into the movie Field of Dreams in 1989. Common themes in his work are baseball, First Nations people, and other Canadian issues. Kinsella taught at the University of Calgary from 1978-83. He has been married three times: first to Myrna Salls in December 1957; next to Mildred Clay-Heming September 1965; and third to Ann Ilene Knight December 1978. He has three children.
Kinsella has been honored several times including being made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1993.
