Biography
American military man who achieved the rank of Admiral in the US Navy; he is the son of a noted military officer killed at the attack on Pearl Harbor.
A 1941 graduate of the US Naval Academy, he received his commission as Ensign just twelve days after his father was killed. Isaac Jr. saw active duty during WWII and beyond, remaining in the Navy until his 1978 retirement. His service included holding the posts of Supreme Allied Commander of NATO's Atlantic Fleet and Commander in Chief of the US Atlantic Fleet.
He and his wife had six children. He died from cancer on June 27, 1999 in Alexandria, VA.
