Biography
German writer, a neo-romantic journalist and novelist. He was a painter before he became a writer with his first novels published in 1904. During WW I, he was a foreign correspondent for Berliner Tageblatt. He wrote two journalistic novels and a number of travel books but was best known for his novel, "The Tunnel," written in 1915.
