Biography
American photography editor turned cookbook writer, she is the child of an American mother and Indian father from Kerala, in southwestern India. Kaimal grew up in Belmont, MA. Her goal is to educate food lovers to the subtle flavors of South Indian, especially, Keralan, food. She began traveling to India at age 9 when her father longed to learn to cook his native cuisine. She became hooked on the foods of her ancestors and has since published two cookbooks.
