Biography
American politician and the State Senator of Illinois with five terms by 1982. In 1981, 29 counts of misdemeanor charges were filed in regard to campaign finance. On the trial date of 1/05/1982, the charges were dismissed and he was acquitted within four days, 1/09/1982. Johns was noted for his labor and coal interests. While still in office, he died in August 1984 in Marion, IL, age 56.
