Biography

French military man who, as the Marshall of his country, commanded armies during the first two years of WW I. In 1914, he stopped the German onslaught. Two years later, Joffre was replaced because he was believed too cautious. Originally, he was trained as an engineer, working in Indochina and Africa.

Joffre died on 1/03/1931, Paris, France.
