Biography
Canadian-American film director, one of the most noted of his day with seven Oscar nominations. His work includes "The Russians are Coming," "Fiddler on the Roof," "In the Heat of the Night," "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "Moonstruck." He founded the Canadian Centre for Advanced Film Studies in 1986.
