British chauffeur, the younger brother of comic actor Stan Laurel. His birth was difficult and his mother, the talented actress Madge Metcalfe, remained in poor health until her death on 1 September 1908. Jefferson followed his brother to the USA in 1920. He worked as a chauffeur for a hotel. He died in Los Angeles, California, on 17 December 1933 from a heart attack after dental surgery.
