Biography
British royalty, the son of King James II who ruled from 1685-1688. With his Stuart lineage, his Jacobite supporters referred to him as James III of England and VIII of Scotland but his detractors called him the Old Pretender.
He died January 1, 1766 (OS; equivalent to January 12, 1766 NS) in Rome.
