Belgian architect and designer, one of the most important names in Art Nouveau architecture. In 1932, the Belgian King granted him the title of a Baron. Horta died on 8 September 1947, 86 years old, while still working on the Brussels central railway station, a modernist building he had originally designed in 1910.
