Biography
Philippine rebel and former government aide; he was fired as Defense Minister by Corazon Aquino in 11/1986. The leader of rebel troops who attacked the presidential palace in Manila on 8/28/1987 during an attempted coup, he failed and was captured. After his capture he was soon released, only to become the country's most wanted fugitive in 1992. He came out of hiding on 12/24/1992 and signed a cease fire agreement that paved the way for peace talks between the rebels and the Philippine government.
