Sy Scholfield quotes speculative data from the book "Margaret Holmes: The Life and Times of an Australian Peace Campaigner" (By Michelle Cavanagh; New Holland, 2006), p. 29, which states that Holmes was born in Sydney and that she "arrived in the wee small hours of Sunday 24 January 1909."
