Biography
American radio host. With a passion for and knowledge of the blues that is unusual in one so young, Hogan has been hosting radio blues shows beginning in 2000 while he was a student at Emerson College, studying writing. . He graduated in 2002. In November 2002, he replaced one of the interim cohosts who were filling the slot left vacant by the death of Mai Cramer, longtime host of "Blues After Hours" on WGBH radio in the Boston, MA area.
In April 2003, Hogan beat out stiff competition and was named Cramer’s successor. June 7, 2003 marked his first official evening as weekend host of the popular and prestigious blues show. Station managers commented on his extensive knowledge and willingness to work hard. Hogan added guitar lessons to his repertoire in 1998 and has played in local bars. He is focused and prepares extensively for each show.
A night owl, he doesn’t sleep until he has listened to each show to critique it. Hogan is expected to host upcoming jazz festivals. He credits his mother with being "a huge inspiration."
