Biography

Polish military leader in WW II who became a German national hero in 1916, then the first president of the German Republic, by popular vote, in 1925. In the election of 1930, he was appointed Hitler's Chancellor. As he was conservative, loyal and narrow, he was a better military man than civic leader.

Died on 08/02/1934, Neudeck, Germany.
