Biography
American astronomer and astrophysicist who taught at the University of Chicago from 1943-70. A research astronomer, he co-authored the "Photometric Atlas of Stellar Spectra" in 1946 and became a full Professor of Astronomy in 1955. In 1942 he earned a PhD. in astrophysics having already obtained his B.S. and M.S.
He was married on 8/12/1939 and had four children.
