Biography
British ecclesiastic, a pugnacious Cardinal Archbishop in the Roman Catholic Church.
He was ordained to the priesthood 7/16/1930, Rome and did his first pastoral work in the archdiocese of
Westminster, 1931-1951. He was elected the bishop of Leeds 1/27/1951 and consecrated on March 12. He moved up in the hierarchy of the church in the following years, he was created a cardinal on 2/22/1965.
Cardinal Heenan died on 11/07/1975 and was buried at Westminster cathedral, London, England.
