Biography
French military. Mobilized in the army on 4/14/1917, he was selected through a draw to be a member of the firing squad for the execution of Mata-Hari. Convicted of espionage, the famous Dutchwoman was executed by firing squad on 10/15/1917, 5:00 AM, Vincennes, France. After the shots were fired, she crumpled in a heap of petticoats.
Halbin married on 4/30/1924; eight children. On 11/11/1996, he was awarded the Legion of Honour for his years of military service.
