Biography

German Trade-Union Secretary and a member of the anti-Nazi Resistance. A minor, he rose to become a trade-union official and the editor of the German Worker's paper in 1930. In opposition to the Nazis from the beginning, he finally was arrested 8/12/1944 and executed 1/23/1945 at the Berlin-Plotzensee prison. He was beatified on October 7, 2001 by Pope Paul II..
