Biography
American composer and conductor, a violinist with the Los Angeles Symphony and a pianist and arranger with the Paul Whiteman band 1919-1933. He created a style of symphonic jazz, exemplified in his "Grand Canyon Suite," 1931.
Grofe died 7/03/1972, Santa Monica, CA.
