Biography
French chemist who, working with organomagnesium compounds he prepared what are called Grignard reagents, compounds which later had industrial applications. He became a professor of chemistry at Nancy (1910) and at Lyon (1919) and he won the Nobel Prize in 1912.
Grignard died 12/13/35, Lyon, France. By the time he died, over 6,000 scientific papers had been published about applications of the Grignard reaction.
