Biography
American politician, Republican State Representative from Florida and in 2004 named by George Bush to head the CIA. His appointment must be approved by Congress. Goss had been head of the House Intelligence Committee since `1997 and was an Army Intelligence Officer serving in the CIA's clandestine operations in the 1960s.
He was mayor of Sanibel from 1974-1977 and served on the Sanibel City Council from 1974-1983. From 1983-1988 he served as Lee County Commissioner. In 1989 he was elected to the House of Representatives
He graduated from Yale University in 1960. He and his wife have four children.
