German musician and one of the finest reformers of opera. He tried to make all parts of the opera serve the drama as in "Orfeo ed Euridice," 1762 and "Iphigenie en Tauride," 1779.
Died 11/15/1787, Vienna, Austria.
Karum, spec time. PC wrote that "Barbault believes, as I do, that Gluck has Leo rising, time around 7:30 AM." Andre Barbault in personal correspondence with LMR May 2001 writes that he never mentioned Gluck's time because it is unknown.
