Biography
Swedish former actor and stage director, named as Director and General Manager of the Metropolitan Opera in July 1972. Before assuming his prestigious post, he vacationed with his family in Sardinia. On 6/18/1972, he was killed in auto accident along with two of his daughters; his wife and another daughter were injured and hospitalized.
