Biography
British playwright who had a brief career as an actor before turning to writing and directing. His first important play was produced in 1938. Fry's works include: "The Lady's Not For Burning" 1949, "Venus Observed," 1950 and the profound "Sleep of Prisoners," 1951.
The venerable playwright died at age 97 on June 30, 2005 in Chichester, England.
