Biography

American teenager seen in the news for adolescent prostitution and the attempted murder of her lover's wife. Known as the "Long Island Lolita, Amy was an only child, was given everything in material goods by indulgent parents, vacations, clothes, a car. An under-achiever in school, she was rebellious until her folks sought professional help. She first ran away from home at 11 to go to Disneyland. Her second run-away episode was on 2/24/1991. Amy claimed that she had been sexually assaulted at 13 by a workman at home.

By 16, she was sporting new clothes and having fun, spending some $400 to $500 a week, telling her classmates and others that she was working for an escort service and that having sex for money was no big deal.

She first had sex with 36-year-old mechanic Joey Buttafucco in July 1991, six weeks before her 17th birthday. On 5/19/1992 about 11:45 AM, she rang the doorbell of Joey's home. When his wife, Mary Jo, answered the door, Amy shot her in the face, wounding her severely. She was picked up by the police three days later.

On 9/22/1992 Amy pled guilty to charges of assault with a deadly weapon and was sentenced to 5-15 years in prison. Joey Buttafucco was brought up on charges of statutory rape, having sex with a minor. The only money Fisher received as a direct result of shooting Mary Jo Buttafucco was $8,000 for a first-person piece in the spring 1994 issue of Mouth 2 Mouth magazine.

In May 1999, Amy was released from prison. She met Lou Bellera while cruising the Internet in early 2000. A physical-fitness fanatic some 25 years older than Amy, he works as a wedding-photographer and has two kids from a former marriage. He and Amy became the parents of a baby boy, Brett, on 2/22/2001. In early 2002, now a single mother, Amy was hired by a Long Island newspaper to write a bi-weekly column.

Fisher and her husband Lou Bellera welcomed their daughter, Ava Rose, on January 26, 2005 on Long Island, NY.
