Biography

American pro baseball pitcher who signed with the Baltimore Orioles in the fourth round of free-agent draft pick 6/03/1991. After attending college in Houston Eshelman played with the Orioles. Placed on the disabled list for the full season in 1992, he played in the AAA League and was then signed with the Boston Red Sox organization 12/05/1994. Placed again on the disabled list, he played partial seasons in 1995 and 1996. Eshelman signed with the Oakland Athletics 10/15/1997 and then with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 11/18/1997. At 6' 3", 215 lbs., he throws left, bats left and has played for three years in the major leagues as of 1998.
