Biography
Danish statue, a lovely and graceful life-size mermaid perched on a rock by the seashore, one of the popular tourist attractions. On 1/07/1998 the news was released that she had been beheaded by vandals, an ugly act of pointless violence. It was probably done by two men with hacksaws and over 200 people took "credit" for doing it, but no one was ever charged and her head was never found.
