Biography

American scientist and writer; an ecologist and insect biologist, he is a major figure in the study of population control and ecology movements. Ehrlich is the founder of president of the political action group, Zero Population Growth Inc. Earned his doctorate in 1957, he is the author of "The Population Bomb" as well as a dozen books on biology, ecology and population studies.

Ehrlich married on 12/18/1954; one daughter. After the birth of his child, he had a vasectomy, in keeping with his belief in population control.
