Biography
British royalty, the great-grandson of Edward III and the son of Richard, Duke of York, crowned king in 1461. A military genius who never lost a battle, he was also a shrewd financier. When he took the throne, the treasury was empty; through his reign with wise commercial policy and some sharp practices, he left the treasury full.
Edward IV had three sons, two of whom were murdered, and seven daughters. Grossly obese, he died after a ten-day illness on 4/09/1483 OS.

Source Notes
Martin Harvey in American Astrology June/1961. In Astrological Journal Summer/1966 he stated that there seemed to be some confusion about the date but it seemed accurate and valid from Latin research: April 28, 1442 OS, 2:00 AM LAT. Blackwell gives the same date but for 1:51 UT.
Marc Penfield in Mercury Hour 1/1988 quotes Mary Devlin for April 28, 1441 (a year prior), 11:30 AM "from data given in Richard III by Paul Kendall." Penfield adds that other sources give both 1:30 AM and 2:00 AM.
