American neurosurgeon and the author of the best-selling Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon's Journey into the Afterlife, in which he describes his 2008 near-death experience and asserts that science can and will determine that heaven really does exist. He asserts that his out of body and near death experience (NDE) while in a meningitis-induced coma proves that consciousness is independent of the brain, that death is an illusion, and that an eternity of perfect splendor awaits us beyond the grave — complete with angels, clouds, and departed relatives, but also including butterflies and beautiful girls in peasant dress.
"At 4:30 in the morning, November 10, 2008, I got out of bed. I was getting ready to go up to work. I was working in Charlottesville at the time and I had severe sudden back pain, much worse than I had ever experienced. Literally within 10 or 15 minutes, it got me to a point where I could not even take a step. I was really in tremendous agony…"
As of December 2, 2012, Proof of Heaven has been on the The New York Times Best Seller list for four weeks.
A Noel Tyl's forum member quotes his autobiography.
On 1st May 2013 Another Tyl's forum member posted the following info:
The book gives the exact time, but only clues as to the date.
See pages 61 - 62 of the book.
"Ann told me how she had looked up at the stars twinkling wildly in the gusty winds of a newly arrived cold front on that frigid December night in 1953..."
"The crescent moon hung low in the west. Brilliant Jupiter was just rising.. " [before she entered the hospital]
"... so she was only semiconscious when finally, at 2:42 a.m., ... she gave birth."
"Over the next four hours, first Mars, then Saturn, then Mercury, and finally brilliant Venus rose in the eastern sky to greet me..."
Francine's suggested date of December 14 doesn't fit the clues.
The Moon was NOT a crescent moon on the 14th; Sun: 22 Sag, Moon 0 Aries
On the 8th, the Moon WAS a crescent Moon: Sun 15 Sag, Moon 8 Capricorn
On the 14th, when the "moon hung low in the west [in very late Pisces], Brilliant Jupiter" [at 22 Gemini] was NOT "just rising"; it was overhead.
On the 8th, when the "moon [in early Capricorn] hung low in the west", "Brilliant Jupiter [at 22 Gemini] WAS "just rising".
